Ric Flair Appears Ringside At AAA TripleMania In Mexico
Ric Flair has made his first appearance since his WWE release just under two weeks ago, debuting for AAA at TripleMania XXIV!
The 72-year-old two-time WWE Hall of Famer stunned AAA fans when he appeared to manage Andrade El Idolo for his AAA Mega Championship match against Kenny Omega. Earlier in the show, Andrade teased that he had a big star to accompany him later in the show after telling his now-former manager Konnan he was no longer needed. In response, Konnan switched allegiances and came out to the ring with Omega.
After Andrade made his way to the top of the entrance ramp, the iconic theme of The Nature Boy rang out across Mexico City Arena – leading Flair to make his entrance. The two shook hands before making their way to the ring together! In case you don’t know, Andrade is engaged to Ric Flair’s daughter Ashley aka WWE’s Charlotte Flair.

Despite getting some physical assistance from the WWE Hall of Famer, it wasn’t enough for Andrade to win gold. After an intense back-and-forth bout, Konnan distracted the referee which allowed Omega to hit Andrade with the Mega Championship before delivering a One Winged Angel onto the belt to retain the title. Tensions between the two look to be far from over, however, as the two stared down after the match while Andrade rallied the crowd behind him.

Kenny Omega commented on what happened on Twitter as well.
Hey @AndradeElIdolo , I’ll admit it. You’re tough, you came close. But that stunt with @RicFlairNatrBoy ? Not in 2021, and not in my ring, pal. You made it personal.

The appearance comes days after a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Ric Flair is AEW-bound as soon as “he is legally able.” Flair was released from his WWE contract earlier this month after reportedly becoming frustrated with booking decisions within the company, leading him directly to Vince McMahon to ask for his release.
