Rhea Ripley WWE

Rhea Ripley is among the big names that will be part of King and Queen of the Ring qualifying matches on Raw.

During the WWE Money in the Bank broadcast, a video aired featuring the Raw and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis. The two GMs officially announced the start of WWE’s King and Queen of the Ring tournaments that will culminate with a new King and Queen at the Night of Champions PLE on June 28th.

Whoever wins the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will receive WWE or World Title matches at SummerSlam, depending on what brand the wrestlers are on.

The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring tournament winners were Gunther and Nia Jax. Gunther went on to become World Heavyweight Champion while Jax won the WWE Women’s Title on the same night.

To crown this year’s WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournament winners, the tournament will begin with a men’s and women’s fatal 4-way match on the June 9th edition of Raw in Phoenix.

Raw GM Adam Pearce announced the two matches in a video on social media.

The women’s match will be Rhea Ripley vs. Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Kairi Sane.

As for the men’s side, it will be Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker vs. Penta.

Rhea Ripley Looking To Bounce Back After WWE Money In The Bank

At the WWE Money in the Bank PLE in Los Angeles, Rhea Ripley was the crowd favorite to win the Women’s Money in the Bank match that opened the show. Ripley entered the show stating that she had never been in a ladder match before, as she had never needed to be in one, so perhaps that inexperience cost her.

In the match’s final moments, Ripley and Alexa Bliss were climbing a ladder when Naomi showed up at the right time to shove the ladder over, which caused both women to take big bumps. Naomi followed up by climbing the ladder and grabbing the coveted Money in the Bank briefcase for the big win.

The good thing for Ripley is that she has another path to get a shot at championship gold – win the Queen of the Ring tournament.

It’s a loaded Raw from Phoenix on June 9th with the following lineup currently being advertised.

  • Jey Uso defends World Heavyweight Title against Gunther
  • John Cena returns to Raw
  • Nikki Bella returns with a special message
  • King of the Ring Tournament: Rhea Ripley vs. Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Kairi Sane.
  • Queen of the Ring Tournament: Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker vs. Penta.
