Rhea Ripley Chooses WrestleMania 39 Opponent
Rhea Ripley has made it clear she is coming after Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 39.
The Women’s Royal Rumble match took place this past Saturday with Rhea Ripley entering as the number one entrant followed by Liv Morgan in the second spot. After 28 women were eliminated, Ripley and Morgan were the final two women left in the match. Ripley managed to overpower Morgan to dump her out of the ring and win the match.
It was an impressive performance from Ripley since she lasted 1:01:08 in the match, which is a record for any woman in Royal Rumble history.
What was also impressive by Ripley is that she suffered a dislocated kneecap during the match, yet she was still able to win the match and avoid a major injury.
On the January 30th edition of Raw, Ripley was given the chance to declare who she was going to face at WrestleMania since she earned a title shot as the Royal Rumble winner.
During Ripley’s promo on Raw, she didn’t even mention the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Instead, Ripley talked about how three years ago she made the WWE main roster and challenged Charlotte Flair, the Royal Rumble winner, to a match at WrestleMania 36. Flair could choose any title and decided to face Ripley. That was a win for Flair, which is something that has stuck with Ripley.
