Rhea Ripley Got Tattoo Because WWE Didn’t Book Her For Major Show
Rhea Ripley has revealed that she and Dominik Mysterio went out to get matching tattoos when they weren’t booked for WWE SummerSlam.
Despite being in the middle of a year-long run as the WWE Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley was absent from the card for SummerSlam in 2023. She has now revealed her unique protest to the omission, telling WWE Tattooed that she and Dirty Dom decided to skip the show and get matching ghost tattoos instead.
“Work is definitely not going to like this story. Whatever, I don’t care. Summerslam 2023, I wasn’t booked. I wasn’t really happy about not being booked because I hadn’t really defended my championship much.
“So, what Dom and I did, we went to the tattoo parlor instead of getting on the bus to go to work because we weren’t booked, so we weren’t expecting to be there. We’re like, we got a free day, we’re gonna go get tattoos. We went and got ghosts on our thumbs.”
On the day, though, the pair were told they had been added to the event, where they went out to help Finn Balor in his unsuccessful challenge for the World Heavyweight Title.
“We have matching ghosts tattoos on our thumbs to symbolize us not being booked. When we sat down to get tattooed, we got called and we were booked. So we had to run back. Well, we definitely took our time. I was like, ‘Yeah, we’ll be there when we’ll be there.’ We went out and we helped Finn and Priest. But yeah, that’s the ghost tattoo.”
Rhea Ripley Looks Forward To Huge Rematch With WWE Star
