Rhea Ripley Names Surprising WWE Star That Deserves An Opportunity
Rhea Ripley is going with a veteran name as somebody who should be given more of a chance in the women’s division.
There have been several women who have thrived in the last few years with Triple H running the creative team, but perhaps none of them have thrived as much as Rhea Ripley.
Even though Ripley hasn’t held the Women’s World Title for several months, she has been a top contender on the Raw brand.
At the second-ever WWE Evolution PLE, Rhea Ripley headlined the show by challenging Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Title. The Ripley-Sky match was outstanding and will likely be remembered as one of the best WWE matches this year. Unfortunately for both women, Naomi decided to cash in Money in the Bank during the match, which led to Naomi becoming the Women’s World Champion.
On the Raw after Evolution, it was announced that Naomi will defend the Women’s World Title against Ripley and Sky in a triple threat match at SummerSlam on August 2 & 3.
Rhea Ripley Wants To See Candice LeRae Featured More In WWE
When it comes to what woman deserves more of the spotlight, Rhea Ripley mentioned SmackDown’s Candice LeRae, who is currently paired with her husband Johnny Gargano in #DIY and his tag team partner, Tommaso Ciampa.
As Rhea Ripley told SportBible, LeRae is somebody who has a lot of ideas and should get the chance to show what she can do.
“I feel like there’s a lot and it’s hard to pinpoint anyone specifically. Especially in the women’s division, there’s so many that I know are so amazing at what they do and they don’t get enough TV time or opportunities to show everyone what they can do.
“Someone that I love is Candice LeRae, going through NXT with her and seeing how her brain works and how she goes out there – she’s the veteran in the ring.
“She knows what to do, keeps everyone calm and she’s got ideas. I wish someone like her would get more of an opportunity.
“With TV there’s only a limited amount of time and everyone gets their spot. It’s just what happens in the business but there’s a lot of people who I believe should be in a different spot to what they’re in right now.”
Rhea Ripley’s match at SummerSlam will be Ripley’s second huge triple threat match this year since she was involved in a classic at WrestleMania 41 against Sky and Bianca Belair. That match saw Sky pick up the win to keep the Women’s World Title.
