When Rhea Ripley Really Suffered Latest WWE Injury

Rhea Ripley WWE

Rhea Ripley was left bloodied and battered at NXT and it seems the apparent injury she suffered is very real.

During the October 19th episode of NXT, Rhea Ripley made a surprise appearance where she welcomed Zaria to the brand and gave the star and her tag team partners a pep talk ahead of a battle on November 6th. On the show from the ECW Arena, Zaria will team with Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Kelani Jordan & TNA’s Jordynne Grace to tackle Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade & Fatal Influence.

Later on in the show, cameras caught several referees rushing to the parking lot with Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez walking away with a baseball bat. It was quickly revealed that their target had been Ripley who was lying battered and bloody next to a car.

WWE then issued a statement noting that Rhea Ripley had been injured after suffering a fractured orbital socket putting her out of action for an undisclosed amount of time. And unfortunately for Ripley, it seems that the injury is not just part of the show.

Rhea Ripley Out For A While

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the injury to Ripley is legitimate and noted it might be what kept her from competing at Crown Jewel on November 2nd:

She’s got a fractured orbital bone so the injury they announced is pretty much legit. It happened last week – probably the last TV thing because she hasn’t worked any house shows, probably the last TV angle she did with Raquel was where it happened most likely.

She is going to be out for a while. I don’t know 100% that’s why she’s not on the pay-per-view (Crown Jewel) because I did hear that match for the pay-per-view but it happened last week and then they did this thing as a cover to basically have a reason for her to be out of action.

Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the Women’s World Championship shortly after WrestleMania 40 due to injury. Despite being a heavily featured part of the show throughout the year, Rhea Ripley has only had 2 televised matches on Raw in 2024 and has competed in only seven televised matches all year.
