Rhea Ripley Heartbroken After WWE SummerSlam Night 1
Rhea Ripley appears distraught at the turn of events during Night 1 of SummerSlam.
The main event of the evening featured CM Punk taking on Gunther. Punk and Ripley share a close camaraderie, judging by their interactions in WWE: Unreal, the Stamford promotion’s recent docuseries.
Punk vs. Gunther ended with the former winning the World Heavyweight Championship via pinfall. This was his first world title win in more than eleven years.
However, his celebrations were short-lived, as Seth Rollins revealed his injury as a ruse and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
‘The Visionary’ hit Punk with the briefcase before finishing him off with The Stomp.
The audience in MetLife Arena appeared shocked, yet revelled in celebrations of Rollins’ victory.
As Rhea Ripley watched the action unfold, she could not help but get emotional. She took to X to make her thoughts clear about the events.

Rhea Ripley Eyes Fourth World Title at SummerSlam
Rhea Ripley will be in action on Night 2 of SummerSlam on Sunday.
She will face champion Naomi and Iyo Sky in a triple threat match for the Women’s World Championship.
Naomi, who won the Money in the Bank briefcase, cashed it at WWE Evolution last month.
In the main event of the all-women’s PLE, Ripley and Sky, then-champion, battled it out for the title.
Naomi was expected to cash the briefcase against Tiffany Stratton, but in a shocking move, she successfully cashed it on the title Iyo Sky held.
