Why Rhea Ripley Is Excited For Fans To Watch “WWE Unreal” On Netflix
Rhea Ripley hopes that WWE fans will gain a deeper understanding of the human side of superstars through “WWE Unreal.”
The new docuseries WWE Unreal debuts on Netflix this coming Tuesday, July 29th, with five episodes taking fans behind the scenes like never before.
Since Netflix is known for going behind the scenes with various other sports entities, it makes sense to do the same with WWE, given that Raw airs on the popular streamer and other shows are also available internationally on Netflix.
While some critics of “WWE Unreal” argue that it might expose aspects of pro wrestling that have been closely guarded for decades, former WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley told JoBlo Celebrity Access that she’s excited about it.
“I think they get to look at us as real people, which is something that I’m low-key excited for because sometimes they don’t treat us like we’re real people. So I feel like this little insight will just help them realize that, yes, we may be WWE superstars, but we still go through things that normal humans go through.”
Rhea Ripley Wants Fans To See What Life As A WWE Superstar Is Like
As she continued, Rhea Ripley talked about how WWE fans will get a chance to see what a “normal” day at WWE TV is like.
They’ll be able to see what our normal day is at work and sort of like take in all the stresses that we go through and what we overcome each TV. I’m just intrigued to see how it all pans out and I’m hoping that, I know everything’s going to be positive, but I’m hoping that people take away the humanity, the human side of us all.”
In the main event of WWE Evolution, Rhea Ripley had an incredible match that saw her nearly beat Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Title in the main event of the show. However, Naomi showed up to cash in Money in the Bank and left as the new Women’s World Champion.
At WWE SummerSlam, Naomi will defend the Women’s World Title against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky as Ripley tries to win back the title she lost earlier this year. For the first time ever, SummerSlam will take place over two nights this year. WWE has confirmed that the Naomi-Ripley-Sky match will take place on Sunday, August 3rd, at MetLife Stadium.
