Rhea Ripley Defending Women’s World Title On September 11th WWE Raw
Rhea Ripley will have a major challenge ahead of her on the next episode of WWE RAW.
Ripley, like her fellow Judgment Day members, has won many of her matches thanks to interference, mostly from Dominik Mysterio.
However, she will not be able to rely on that advantage on September 11th when she defends her Women’s World Title against Raquel Rodriguez in a rematch from this past weekend’s Payback Premium Live Event.
On the September 4th episode of RAW, Rodriguez won a singles match against Chelsea Green in dominant fashion in about two minutes. After winning that match, she cut a promo explaining that she went to RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and he granted her this rematch, albeit with the added caveat that Dominik Mysterio will be banned from ringside.
Rhea Ripley has been Women’s World Champion since WrestleMania 39
Rhea Ripley first won the title, formerly known as the SmackDown Women’s Championship, on night one of WrestleMania 39 by beating Charlotte Flair.
After that win, Ripley has had four successful televised title defenses: against Zelina Vega at Backlash, two back-to-back defenses against Natalya, and then against Raquel Rodriguez at Payback.
Ripley’s relationship with Rodriguez first began a year ago at WWE Clash at the Castle when Dominik turned on his father Rey after a tag match and aligned with Ripley and the Judgment Day.
Since then, their relationship has grown and strengthened, to the point that Dominik is now considered one of the biggest villains in the company and Ripley, when paired with him, gets some of the loudest and most sustained boos out of anyone in the company.
