Rhea Ripley Called Out For Match By Ex-AEW Champion
A former champion in AEW has Rhea Ripley on her mind when it comes to having a big match in the future.
It was announced earlier this week that former AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya is no longer working for the company after spending over two years there. The last time Saraya was in a match on AEW TV was in October 2024, so it had been over five months since she last wrestled for the promotion.
While Saraya has made it clear that there is no bad blood with AEW, she is also open to a WWE return where she had a lot of success as Paige, a former Divas Champion.
The WWE portion of Saraya’s career ended prematurely due to a serious neck injury that kept her out of the ring for several years. After wrestling in AEW for over two years, it’s possible that WWE could clear her to compete there once again.
Regarding the WWE women’s division, it has changed a lot since Saraya debuted on the main roster as Paige over a decade ago. While some women from her era are still there, many others like Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair and others have become massive stars in the division.
In an interview with the B4 The Bell podcast, Saraya spoke about what WWE return could look like while mentioning Rhea Ripley first as a possible tag team partner and opponent.
“I feel like me and Rhea [Ripley] would make a really good tag team, I’ve said that. I would love to wrestle her too. I’d love to… there’s so many women that I want to wrestle, I do, one day. Not anytime soon, obviously. There’s no room for me, [laughs], but I would love to face Rhea.
I’m a big fan of how Liv [Morgan] has shaped her career too, from when I was there. She’s been doing such a good job. She’s amazing. She’s really, really great. Her character work, everything’s really great.
Charlotte [Flair] is just a star, dude. I love her so much. She carries herself like a star, she looks like a star. I would love to go around the block with her one more time. Nattie again.”
Rhea Ripley Getting Women’s World Title Rematch On WWE Raw
After losing the Women’s World Title on the March 3rd edition of Raw, Rhea Ripley has been on a warpath to try to get another shot at the title held by IYO SKY. Ripley blames Bianca Belair for her loss while claiming that Belair watching from ringside distracted Ripley. A shoving match between Ripley and Belair also played a part in the match finish because Sky capitalized moments later to win the match.
On WWE Raw in Glasgow, Rhea Ripley found out she’ll challenge Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Title on the March 31st Raw in London, England with Bianca Belair as the referee. Whoever wins that match will defend the title against Elimination Chamber match winner Bianca Belair although it’s certainly possible that it ends up being a triple threat match.
Here’s what WWE is advertising for WWE Raw in London on March 31st so far:
- IYO SKY vs. Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship Match with Special Guest Referee Bianca Belair
- Cody Rhodes and John Cena prepare for WrestleMania
