Rhea Ripley Shares Brutal Aftermath Of WWE WrestleMania Match

Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley competed in a WrestleMania classic match and left with a visible scar after it was over.

In the opening match of WrestleMania 41 Sunday, Iyo Sky defeated Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley to retain the Women’s World Championship.

It was a match where even though Sky walked in as the champion, many people picked Belair or Ripley to leave with the Women’s World Title due to how dominant they have been in their WWE careers over the last five years.

The finish of the match saw Belair counter Ripley’s Riptide attempt and and Belair hit Ripley with a hair whip to the body. That led to Belair hitting her KOD slam on Ripley. While Belair might have thought she was going to win, the champion Sky jumped off the top with Over The Moonsault on Belair and Sky covered Belair for the three count to retain the title.

That match is being praised by a lot of fans as one of the best opening matches in WrestleMania history and one of the best women’s matches in WrestleMania history.

Rhea Ripley didn’t get the win in the match, but she did share in an Instagram post that she got a black eye.

It’s a reminder that even though wrestlers will always try to protect eachother in a match, it is still a physical sport and those kinds of things do happen sometimes.

Rhea Ripley Found Joy In Her First WrestleMania Even Without Fans In Attendance

While speaking about her WrestleMania history, Rhea Ripley shared her memories of her first WrestleMania in 2020 when she faced Charlotte Flair at the only WrestleMania with no fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 shutting down the world at the time. Despite the unusual circumstances, Ripley found a way to enjoy it.

“I remember going out there and like just doing my entrance and even that in itself was so awkward. It was so awkward because like it was at a time where you can’t, take forever to walk through the curtain because there’s no fans.

So you literally have to go as soon as your music hits so they have something to see watching on their TVs, and for me, I have a certain point in my song where I go out there, especially with my older song as well, which was a good five to 10 seconds before I went out.

So walking out straight away was very… it threw me off because then I had to just pace on the stage and wait for my stomp and then awkwardly walk down to the ring to absolutely no high fives, no cheers, no nothing. Just Charlotte looking back at me and I’m just like, ‘oh no’.

But it was fun and it was a memory and it’s a part of history that I can never erase and no one can ever erase. I was a part of the first and only WrestleMania with absolutely zero fans. So I’ll take it as an accomplishment.”

Rhea Ripley will look to bounce back after her WrestleMania 41 loss and as her fans know, she’s never too far out of the title chase.
