Rhea Ripley And Becky Lynch React To WrestleMania 40 Matchup

Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch are on a collision course that will see them face off in a huge match at WrestleMania 40.

For the past several months, World Wrestling Entertainment has been teasing a Rhea Ripley-Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40. Before the Royal Rumble, Lynch spoke about how she was going to win that and face Ripley at WrestleMania.

Unfortunately for Lynch, that Royal Rumble win didn’t happen because Bayley was the winner of that match.

That left the Elimination Chamber for Lynch, who had never been in a Chamber match before this year’s Chamber PLE in Perth, Australia. Lynch started the Women’s Elimination Chamber match and lasted until the end when she pinned Liv Morgan after a Manhandle Slam to get the win.

In another huge match at Elimination Chamber in the main event, Rhea Ripley beat Nia Jax with her Riptide Slam to remain the Women’s World Champion. That confirmed the Ripley/Lynch match would happen at WrestleMania on either April 6th or April 7th.

Rhea Ripley told Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail that her match with Lynch is worthy of a WrestleMania main event spot.

“Mami already main evented her WrestleMania. Why not do the next one as well? I think Becky Lynch and I stepping into the ring is Mania main event worthy. I really do.”

“The last time we faced each other was NXT leading up to Survivor Series and WarGames. That was Mama’s time to shine and it’s still Mami’s time to shine. Mami is always on top and I’ve proved that time and time again.”

“If we are given the opportunity. If we take the opportunity to be main event, I hope Becky Lynch is ready. She can cut me off and run her mouth and say that I’m a lazy champion; I just proved I’m not a lazy champion.”

“I went out there and beat Nia Jax, the person that beat you. I also beat Lyra Valkyria, the person that beat you for the NXT Women’s Championship. That’s two for two. Why not make it three for three and beat you at WrestleMania.”

Becky Lynch Wants Rhea Ripley To Enjoy Her Moment For Now

In a video posted on her X/Twitter account, Becky Lynch had her own message for Rhea Ripley as the fireworks went off in Optus Stadium in celebration of Ripley’s win.

“Enjoy your fireworks now, Rhea, because they’re gonna be going off for me at WrestleMania. It’s official, Mami versus The Man.”

It has yet to be announced by WWE when the Ripley-Lynch match take place on the two-night WrestleMania 40 card, but we should learn that soon as the Road to WrestleMania continues.
