Rey Mysterio Feels WrestleMania Entrance Was Legendary

Rey Mysterio WWE Promo

Rey Mysterio has looked back fondly on one of his most famous entrances before a huge WWE match.

For his 30+ years in pro wrestling and over 20 years in WWE, Rey Mysterio has been known not just as the best masked wrestler ever, but also as a guy who had some memorable entrances.

A lot of WWE fans will always remember his “jumping out the sky” entrance as a way to excite the crowd as soon as they heard his song. Rey also famously used low riders for his entrance when he was teaming with Eddie Guerrero and also as a tribute after Eddie passed away.

At WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, Rey Mysterio was driven into the stadium by Snoop Dogg in a low rider as “Nothing But A G Thang” played. They also played Eddie Guerrero’s “Lie, Cheat, Steal” theme song before Rey’s song began.

In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, the WWE Hall of Famer Mysterio talked about how special that entrance was for him.

“That was all magic for me. I had no idea what was going down until rehearsal time. When I saw the rehearsal and they told me, I was like, ‘Really, I’m part of this?’ It was crazy.

I was already in another mindset, the fact that I was going to wrestle my son. My nerves were at 100%. I was nervous for myself. I was nervous for my son. I was because I had a lot of family there. Just hoped that everything turned out the way you envision.

Snoop gave me that sense of calmness. Stepping into the whip with him and making that short entrance, those three songs mixed together is historical. It’s legendary for me.”

Rey Mysterio Believes Penta Is A Future WWE World Champion

The subject of WWE newcomer Penta came up in the same interview and Rey Mysterio made it clear that he wants to wrestle him in WWE while also claiming that he thinks Penta can be a WWE World Champion.

“That is a match that I definitely would love to have. I had it in AAA, I had it in Lucha Underground. I would love to have it once again here in WWE. Is he world champion caliber? Of course he is. I think he proved it from the moment he stepped in here.

He already has his fanbase, not to mention what he’s going to accumulate in the next plus years, whenever he decides to end his career. It’s going to end here. Once you’re here, you can’t go anywhere else. This is it. This is home.

I look forward to seeing his destiny. I’m excited for him. I can’t wait to step in the ring and have a singles match with him, or if we team up.”

Regarding his WWE future, Rey Mysterio will be looking for payback on The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods since that duo attacked him after Raw ended.
