Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio Keep Kayfabe Alive At UFC 306

Rey and Dominik Mysterio were in attendance for UFC 306.

On September 14th, UFC 306 landed at The Sphere in Las Vegas. The event was the first held at the venue as the company celebrated Mexican Independence Day.

In the main event, Merab Dvalishvili claimed the Bantamweight Championship with a win over long-time champion Sean O’Malley via Unanimous Decision. In the other top match on the card, Valentia Shevchenko regained the Women’s Flyweight Title with victory over Alexa Grasso, also via Unanimous Decision.

The fight was the third between the pair who first clashed in early 2023 where Grasso grabbed the win. A rematch in September 2023 went to a draw.

No Love Lost Between Rey And Dominik Mysterio

During the event, Rey and Dominik Mysterio were shown watching the action in the crowd, although they weren’t seated together. The father and son have been at odds since September 2022, when Dominik turned on Rey to join The Judgment Day.

Although they’ve largely been kept apart in recent months, the rivalry between Dominik and Rey has continued to simmer in the background. The most recent meeting between the pair came on the August 26th edition of Raw when Rey teamed with Cruz Del Toro, Dragon Lee, and Joaquin Wilde in defeat to Carlito, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh.

Dominik Mysterio will be back in action on the September 16th episode of Raw when he takes on Damian Priest.

After Dominik betrayed Rhea Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam, the former Women’s Champion said she’d love a one-on-one match with her former partner.
