Rey Mysterio Makes Major Announcement Amid WWE Absence

Rey Mysterio WWE Promo

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has made an announcement as he continues to be missing from WWE TV.

Rey Mysterio was pulled from WrestleMania 41 at the 11th hour after suffering a significant injury. The veteran had been due to face El Grande Americano, but 24 hours earlier on SmackDown, he sustained an injury while teaming with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix to defeat American Made.

In the days after the event, it was confirmed that Mysterio had suffered a torn groin that required surgery. Impressively, Mysterio wanted to compete at WrestleMania despite the injury before being stood down by doctors.

Rey Mysterio previously hinted at an August return to action, but that came and went without the WWE Hall of Famer making it back to the ring.

Mysterio has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in an attempt to get cleared for a return to the ring. But while he’s not been competing in the company, he’s now announced that he’ll be making an appearance elsewhere.

Rey Mysterio Heading To AAA

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide released a video featuring Mysterio, where he confirmed that he’d appear at their final show of 2025, Guerra de Titanes.

Fans did see the star at the AAA Worlds Collide show as he was forced to present his son, Dominik Mysterio, with his newly won AAA Mega Championship.
