Rey Fenix’s AEW Exit Threatens To Get Ugly
The saga of Rey Fenix in AEW is threatening to turn very ugly as a new report sheds light on a “huge injustice” taking place.
After months of uncertainty, it was reported on December 1st that Penta El Zero Miedo was now a free agent. The star, and his brother and tag team partner Rey Fenix, have been heavily linked with a move to WWE, but the path to the sports entertainment giant has been anything but straightforward.
It is widely believed that AEW has added time to Fenix’s AEW contract due to time missed because of injury – a common practice in both Tony Khan’s company and WWE. However, rather than using him, AEW seems content to let Fenix sit at home and sit out the rest of his deal. And it seems the former AEW World Tag Team Champion is less than happy about it.
Rey Fenix Unhappy With WWE Fake News
Dr. Chris Featherstone has reported that there is a “real story” behind the issues regarding Rey Fenix in AEW and it’s got nothing to do with allegations that he’d been in talks with WWE despite being under contract with Tony Khan’s company:
I received information from an AEW source on November 20 regarding the Lucha Brothers’ status, but did not report it as I was waiting for one of them to begin speaking their mind about the situation (I was told that was coming). I was also told that day that Penta’s contract was soon ending with AEW.
Rey Fenix did just that (spoke his mind), so here is some Intel I received: –
“The alleged excuse that Tony Khan found out about Lucha Brothers [being] in talks with WWE is ‘fake news,’ and the real reason [will be] revealed.”
– There is a “real story” behind the situation with Rey Fenix, which is a “huge injustice.”
– Expect the Lucha Brothers to go more in-depth about their time in AEW when they are free and clear to do so, and “when they do, [it] is going to be ugly.”
Responding to the post, Rey Fenix noted that there is something to the initial reports as he wrote that it was:
so far the most accurate comment.

Fenix also indicated that he will be speaking on the matter but due to his current contractual status he is unable to do so for the time being:
Unfortunately, due to contractual issues i cannot speak now, but I will have my time.
Penta El Zero Miedo denied talks with WWE took place while under AEW contract but he is now free and clear to negotiate and sign with anyone he wants.
