Rey Fenix Wants Singles Match With WWE Tag Team Icon
Rey Fenix has a particular wrestler in mind for a singles match.
The first Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying match occurred on WWE SmackDown in Greensboro. It was a triple threat match that saw Solo Sikoa get the win over his brother Jimmy Uso and Rey Fenix, who is a newcomer on the SmackDown brand.
While many fans likely wanted to see Fenix in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, where he could show off his aerial skills, it’s not happening due to Sikoa’s win, which was thanks to some of his allies at ringside.
While posting on social media, Fenix addressed the Smackdown loss, saying he wants to face former WWE Tag Team Champion Jimmy Uso in a singles match.
“Todo va bien!
“Everything takes time, and my time is coming.
“Another incredible Friday of #smackdown🔵
“Just I think now I have to face Jimmy Uso in ONE a ONE match!

Since debuting in WWE, Rey Fenix has done well, although he did suffer a significant loss at WrestleMania 41 when he filled in for Rey Mysterio against El Grande Americano. Unfortunately for Fenix, Americano (Chad Gable in a mask) won thanks to a piece of metal under his mask.
WWE Plans To Have Rey Fenix Team Up With Penta
As a SmackDown wrestler, Fenix has yet to appear on Raw where his brother Penta has done very well to start the year. Penta hasn’t won the Intercontinental Title yet, but he has challenged for it multiple times, including at WrestleMania 41.
Before signing with WWE, Penta and Fenix were known as the Lucha Bros in AEW for over five years. In AEW, the Lucha Bros were former Tag Team Champions and Trios Tag Team Champions with Pac.
Many WWE fans hope to see Rey Fenix team up with Penta in a WWE ring soon. It was reported recently by Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp that WWE officials have said that Penta & Fenix will “absolutely be together at some point in the future.”
Considering the WWE Draft is rumored to be happening soon, that could be when the brothers reunite. For now, they remain singles wrestlers looking to climb their way to the top.
