Rey Fenix Not Ruled Out Of WWE WrestleMania Match
Rey Fenix is no longer with AEW but could he really be in WWE soon enough to end up on the card at WrestleMania 41?
WWE proved they’d waste no time with ex-AEW stars after Ricky Saints was snapped up just days after his release from Tony Khan’s company. The former Ricky Starks was released after a long period of absence alongside Miro and Malakai Black.
Questions remained over the status of Rey Fenix at that time as the former AEW Tag Team Champion made no secret that he wanted out of his deal so he could join his brother Penta in WWE. Fenix’s contract was extended by AEW due to injuries but now Tony Khan has cut his losses and Rey Fenix is no longer on the AEW roster.
Rey Fenix Heading To WWE
WrestleVotes has now noted that the expectation is that Fenix will now be signing with WWE in the very near future and could even end up on the WrestleMania 41 card:
Spoke with a WWE source regarding the Rey Fenix news making the rounds. With him being free and clear, the expectation backstage is that he joins WWE sooner rather than later.
Source added they wouldn’t be surprised if Fenix ends up on the WM card but noted there’s no exact timeline in place.
Penta is currently embroiled in a feud with Ludwig Kaiser on Raw but should the Lucha Bros reunite in WWE, it could spell trouble for the company’s tag team division.
