Rey Fenix Deletes Anti-AEW Posts

Rey Fenix entrance AEW Collision

Rey Fenix has walked back his criticism of AEW.

After months of uncertainty, it was reported on December 1st that Penta El Zero Miedo was now a free agent. The star, and his brother and tag team partner Rey Fenix, have been heavily linked with a move to WWE, but the path to the sports entertainment giant has been anything but straightforward.

While Penta is free to resume his career elsewhere, Fenix remains under contract well into 2025, even if the company has no plans to use him.

This seemingly prompted Rey Fenix to express his unhappiness publicly as his relationship with AEW broke down further. However, it seems the star has had second thoughts.

Rey Fenix Steps Back

With the wrestling rumour mill now in overdrive following the comments, Fenix has deleted his posts from social media.

The move came after it was reported by Wrestle Votes via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, that Fenix’s actions had “raised some eyebrows” within WWE.

The report noted that people within the company were surprised Fenix went public with his frustration, although it remains to be seen whether it will impact his job prospects.

“Hearing that there were those in the WWE that were surprised yesterday with the Rey Fenix tweets. Not to say that they’re not interested anymore, I’m sure that didn’t change, but there were some eyebrows raised over those tweets, especially if you’re going to put that out there publicly.

I think WWE is going to do some digging into what’s going on…

So that doctor one, you know, my phone started to buzz a little bit afterwards about just the surprise from a few WWE staffers that really didn’t have a pulse on to what may or may not be going on over there with Rey Fenix.

So I just think it raised eyebrows throughout the whole wrestling world, and it did, certainly, you know, in Stanford.”

Rey Fenix hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since beating Tony Nese on the July 20th edition of Collision.
