Wrestling fans may not have seen the last of a 15-time WWE champion.

Ash By Elegance (aka Dana Brooke) made her wrestling debut in September 2014, almost a year after signing a developmental contract with WWE. The 36-year-old debuted on the main roster three years later.

Between 2016 and 2023, the Ohio native competed on SmackDown and Monday Night RAW, winning the WWE 24/7 Championship 15 times. However, she was released from her contract earlier this year, ending her 10-year stint with the Stamford-based company.

Following her departure, the former 24/7 Champion joined TNA, debuting as Ash By Elegance. Last August, she captured the TNA Knockouts World Championship after winning a Triple Threat match at NXT Heatwave. Nevertheless, she vacated the title the following month at Victory Road and announced her retirement from in-ring competition at 36 for an undisclosed reason.

The Former WWE Star Doesn’t Rule Out An In-Ring Return

In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Ash By Elegance discussed her situation. She disclosed that she would address the reason for her retirement when she finds the right time.

Meanwhile, the former WWE star disclosed that she was working hard for a possible in-ring comeback.

I’m working every single day to maybe, possibly be back in the ring. I can’t say when. I just know that I am working with an amazing company in TNA that believes in me. They’ve given me an opportunity to still be on camera, to manage my brand, to now search for ‘Mr. Elegance.’ That drive and that motivation outside of work, [that] keeps me motivated to keep on going and keep doing the things I need to do to be one step closer to being in-ring. It’s crazy how life works, because when you’re on the tippy top of your career, the rug gets kinda pulled out from underneath of you.

But this just is a life lesson; like anything in life, never take anything for granted. And not that I took that title for granted, but I hit the ground running and [had so many plans]. Then it’s like, whoa, let’s take a moment and really digest what had happened. It was a blessing that it happened back where it all started in WWE and NXT. So I truly say this from the bottom of my heart, like anything, when you don’t really feel like talking about something, you kinda just let it be known. When I feel comfortable talking about it, I will. If anyone knows me, for the last 14 years, they know I keep it 100 percent.
