Report: WWE Has Plans For An Asian Tournament On WWE Network (PHOTO)
World Wrestling Entertainment reportedly has plans to do a tournament featuring all Asian wrestlers. This is according to the latest edition of Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Meltzer had the following to say about WWE’s plans for an Asian tournament:
“WWE has contacted talent in Asia looking for passport details and other info regarding an Asian tournament, similar to what was done in the U.K. They appear to be speeding up the process in response to the WCPW World Cup tournament. To make sure there is no confusion, the talent being contacted has been outright told no outside bookings if signed in the U.S, U.K. or Japan.”
Malaysia Pro Wrestling recently posted a photo and comments on their Facebook account about WWE officials visiting their MyPW Reckoning show.
