Report Confirms Plans For Wade Barrett’s On-Screen WWE Return
Wade Barrett is back.
On the September 5 edition of SmackDown, it was announced that Michael Cole would be working alongside Corey Graves for the next “couple of months.” This quickly raised questions about Wade Barrett’s future, as he’d been the man in the chair alongside Joe Tessitore.
This led to reports that Barrett had been removed; however, he later noted that he was simply taking a few weeks off. Something that had been agreed with the company several months ago.
The news came after Nikki Bella called out Wade Barrett for comments he made during Clash In Paris. She also claimed that he’d ignored her on the following episode of Raw. However, the spat didn’t last for long, and they quickly confirmed they’d cleared up the misunderstanding.
Wade Barrett To Make Swift WWE Return
According to a new report from PWInsider, Barrett is scheduled to be part of the broadcast team for Wrestlepalooza on September 20. There’s no word on whether this will signal a return to weekly television.
Interestingly, Triple H has already confirmed that Pat McAfee will return to WWE at the event in Indianapolis, although he didn’t reveal what he would be doing. The former NFL star has been absent from the company since disappearing from the Monday Night Raw commentary desk in June.
As his absence continued, on an episode of his podcast, Pat McAfee cited exhaustion as the reason behind his absence. As a result, there have been suggestions that the star may never return to WWE on a full-time basis.
