New Report Sheds Light On Drew McIntyre WWE Absence
Drew McIntyre is taking a break.
At Bad Blood, CM Punk overcame Drew McIntyre in the most brutal Hell In A Cell match WWE has seen for several years. The match was lauded by fans as a throwback to much earlier cell matches given the brutality and blood on display.
Punk and McIntyre went to war using a wide variety of weapons as they both bled heavily. McIntyre in particular was a mess after taking a shot to the head with a toolbox. After the match, it was reported that the Scottish star required 16 staples to close the wound.
Although Punk appeared on the episode of Raw after Bad Blood, he immediately took a break, while McIntyre hasn’t been since being pinned by Punk.
Drew McIntyre Returns To Europe
A new report from Fightful Select has now given an update on McIntyre, and what he’s been up to following Bad Blood.
While CM Punk’s absence following the event was planned, there’s been no confirmation that McIntyre’s was. However, he would have needed some time off to heal following the cut to his head regardless.
Fightful adds that McIntyre has been in Europe visiting family, noting he recently shared he’d suffered some personal losses.
It’s widely reported that Punk will shortly be returning to television to set up a match at Survivor Series. There have been rumours he’ll face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Title although a Four-Way number one contender match between Seth Rollins, Sheamus, Dominik Mysterio, and Damian Priest has been announced for Raw.
There’s no word on when McIntyre will return to television.
