Report: Former WWE Superstar Shad Gaspard Missing During Beach Swim, Son Was Rescued
There’s some sad news to report today with TMZ reporting that former WWE superstar Shad Gaspard is missing after going on a swim in Venice Beach, California with his 10-year-old son.
The report notes that Gaspard was swimming with his son when several swimmers were caught in a strong rip current at 4 p.m. and lifeguards went out into the water to pull everyone out. The lifeguards were able to rescue Gaspard’s son, but Shad has not been located. Shad was there with his wife and son.
It was also noted by a witness that when lifeguards went out to the ocean, Shad told them to save his son and they did that. They’re heroes for doing that and he’s a great father for looking out for his son like that. Apparently another big wave “crashed down on Gaspard” and that was the last time he was seen.
A member of the Los Angeles Fire Department told media they believe that Shad “did submerge” which is obviously not a good sign.
Gaspard is 39 years old and worked for WWE from 2006 to 2010 as part of the Cryme Tyme team. He started in OVW in 2003 when he was 22 years old.
We will update this post if there is any more news about it. Obviously, it’s sad news and we’re hoping for a good outcome. Best wishes for Shad and his family.
