Report: AJ Styles to Return on WWE Raw, Will Be Part of Money in the Bank PPV

The return of AJ Styles is coming on Monday’s edition of Raw. It was reported by Post Wrestling’s John Pollock that the former WWE Champion Styles is going to return on Raw and Styles will also be a part of the Money in the Bank PPV on May 10.

This will be AJ’s first appearance on WWE TV since he lost the Boneyard Match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania one month ago. That match ended when The Undertaker buried Styles under some dirt in a grave and the final scene showed one of AJ’s gloves popping out of the grave. I guess that’s a way to show he was going to be okay…in the storyline. Since WrestleMania, Styles has appeared on his Mixer channel where he plays video games and interacts with fans. Styles recently said that he was disappointed that his friends Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were released by WWE several weeks ago.

What role will Styles have at MITB? We don’t know right now, but what obviously comes to mind is that Styles will be a part of the Gauntlet Match on Raw that will lead to a male Raw superstar taking Apollo Crews’ place in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

It will be interesting to see if WWE advertises the return of Styles on Raw or if they keep it a surprise. This coming Monday’s Raw was taped earlier this week while the Money in the Bank ladder matches were taped a few weeks ago.

TJR Thoughts: I think it makes sense to have Styles win the gauntlet match on Raw and if that does happen then he might be my pick to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match as well. I think it would be a way to give Styles a boost after a great performance in his feud with Undertaker and we know WWE likes to put the briefcase on a heel like Styles. I was going to pick Aleister Black to win, but if Styles is in the match then I’ll probably pick him.
