Released WWE Star Teases AEW Reunion
A recently-released WWE star is already eyeing up his next move.
On February 8th, news broke that multiple stars were released from WWE in a new round of cuts. The list included the likes of the Authors of Pain, Blair Davenport, Isla Dan, and Cedric Alexander.
Alexander took to social media to thank the company for his time there, adding “#SeeYouIn90,” referring to the 90-day non-compete clause in his contract.
“Thank you for the last 8 1/2 years! Being a professional wrestler has been a dream of mine since I could form memories and I will continue to do so till the good Lord says otherwise. #SeeYouIn90″

Alexander had been with the company since 2016 when he entered the Cruiserweight Classic, reaching the second round before being eliminated by Kota Ibushi. During his career in the company, Alexander captured the Cruiserweight Title and was a three-time 24/7 Champion, as well as holding the Raw Tag Team Title alongside Shelton Benjamin.
In recent months, the star had returned to NXT, and most recently was seen being defeated by Ethan Page on the January 28th edition of the developmental brand.
Former WWE Star Cedric Alexander Hints At AEW Move
Following news of his release, it was reported that The Hurt Syndicate will push for Cedric Alexander to join them in AEW. Currently consisting of MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, the group also included Alexander when they were known as The Hurt Business in WWE. It was during his time with the faction that Alexander held Tag gold with Benjamin for 85 days.
Now, Alexander has teased the move himself, posting a picture of his action figure alongside The Hurt Syndicate’s figures in a now-deleted Instagram Story.
