A former WWE star doesn’t know what’s next.

Katana Chance was released by WWE on May 2, ending her eight-year run with the company. The star was a popular star among fans and won the NXT and Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Kayden Carter before ultimately being let go.

Before signing with WWE, Chance was one of the stars of American Ninja Warrior, and she’s now admitted that the show could be part of her future.

During an appearance on The Lightweights Podcast, Chance reflected on her time with WWE and discussed her uncertain future. The former Tag Team Champion said she’s got a tough decision to make, something that’s both scary and exciting.

“Growing up, I loved watching wrestling. I loved watching American Ninja Warrior. And now that I’ve done both of those in a certain aspect, I’m like, OK, well, am I done with that? Do I want to do more of either of those? That’s possible.

Do I want to do something different that I haven’t done yet? And it’s really a hard question.”

Now that like the world is open, I’m not sure what that looks like yet, which is like exciting. It’s scary, but exciting.”

When asked about a return to Ninja Warrior or the prospect of resuming her wrestling career on the independent scene, Chance noted that both paths are possible. She went on to say that she felt she had the potential to achieve more in wrestling.

“Those are both very good questions and my answer to both of them is it’s possible. Definitely possible. It’s definitely on my mind that I’m looking for. I just need to decide what my first step is going to be, if that makes sense…

And when it comes to wrestling, I’m very grateful for my time there. And I also feel the same way where I know that there are things that I’m capable of and there is potential that I wasn’t able to show. So, that’s hard to walk away from, you know what I mean?

I feel like in both of those avenues, I feel that way where, OK, I know that this could be explored further and I know that I have the potential to do a lot more. So I just need to take the time to choose, like, what is that going to be? And I don’t know yet.”

Another Ex-WWE Says They Never Had A Chance

The comments from Chance echo the frustration expressed by Elektra Lopez as she looked back on her own WWE departure.

Lopez admitted that the news came as a surprise and without explanation. She went on to say that she wished she had been given more opportunities to wrestle and not just be in the shadow of others.

The star is set to resume her career under her real name, Karissa Rivera, on June 7 at Mike Santana’s Puerto Rican Weekend for House of Glory. At the event, Rivera will go one-on-one with AEW star Deonna Purrazzo.
