Released WWE Star Has No Negativity To The Company
A former WWE Superstar is looking to the future.
Back in February, WWE released several Superstars seemingly out of the blue.
Giovanni Vinci, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Isla Dawn, Cedric Alexander, Elektra Lopez, AOP (Rezar and Akam), their manager Paul Ellering, and Blair Davenport were all let go, while Sonya Deville was told the company wouldn’t be renewing her contract.
In the days after the departures, it was reported that several WWE figures were surprised to see Gallows & Anderson and Sonya Deville leave.
Blair Davenport Excited By Life After WWE
After wrestling all around the world for the likes of Stardom, Progress, NJPW, and AEW, Blair Davenport signed with WWE in 2021. She initially appeared in NXT UK before moving stateside, and eventually landed on SmackDown following the 2024 Draft.
During a recent live stream, Davenport broke her silence on her release and explained why she’s at peace with the decision. The British star said she hasn’t got any negative feelings towards the company, commenting that her release is “just the way it goes.”
“I don’t have any negative feelings or anything like that. It’s just the job. It’s business. That’s just the way it goes, really.”
The star went on to praise Giulia, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, and Cora Jade, before expressing her desire to work on the independent scene in the United States.
“I’ve never really done the indies here at all,” she said. “So yeah, I’m excited for the future.”
Blair Davenport hasn’t wrestled since losing to Chelsea Green in a Triple Threat Match also featuring Bianca Belair on the November 22 edition of SmackDown. It was during this match that it was revealed Jade Cargill had been attacked backstage.
Following a hiatus, Cargill returned at Elimination Chamber and eventually went on to beat her mystery attacker (Naomi) at WrestleMania 41.
