Released WWE Star Blasts Company: “I Was Just Very Held Back”

WWE Triple H

One star recently let go by WWE has hit out at the company, claiming that they were held back.

Back in May, it came to light that WWE had released several stars, including the likes of Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter. That was followed by several NXT stars also being let go, with Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade among the highest-profile of them.

Chance and Carter were a tag team for most of their run in the company, graduating from NXT to the main roster. Together, they captured both the NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but despite that success, one of the team members felt they were just held back.

Kayden Carter Held Back In WWE?

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Kayden Carter explained why she felt held back during her time with WWE:

When I got to WWE, I feel like I was just very held back in what I was able to do. I pitched ideas, I put myself out there, I tried new things and it just felt like if that wasn’t the direction they wanted. I kind of had to go with whatever they had prepared for us.

Carter also indicated that she intended to continue her wrestling career in “Japan, AEW, Ring Of Honor, NWA” or elsewhere. The star also noted that she’s keen to let fans see a different style for her as she vowed to “bring back [her] Lucha Strong style and stuff that really got away from [her] in WWE.”

Prior to joining WWE in 2018, Carter was a regular on the independent scene in Florida and for The Crash promotion in Mexico.

Carter’s partner, Katana Chance has returned to a familiar role after leaving WWE.
