Released WWE Star Happy To Return To AEW
One recently released WWE star has already confirmed that they’d be more than happy to find a new wrestling home in Tony Khan’s AEW.
The wrestling world was rocked when R-Truth revealed his WWE contract was not being extended, and for all intents and purposes, his time in the company was over. That was followed by Carlito confirming he was on his way out of WWE, as is Sarah Logan, who was most recently known as Valhalla.
These releases came one month after WWE released several stars including Braun Strowman and Dakota Kai while several NXT talents were also let go. With NXT stars only having to abide by 30-day non-compete clauses, many are now free agents, leaving them to sign elsewhere.
And one of them who has already had a taste of AEW would be more than happy to head back there.
AEW Return For Elayna Black?
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cora Jade explained that she’d love to head back to AEW, but she’s not spoken to the company as yet:
I would definitely be open to an AEW. I loved my time there [doing Dark matches before WWE]. I have a lot of friends there. I watch all the shows. I love the fact that they have as much creative freedom as they do. It’d definitely be something… My 30 days was just yesterday, so not yet [talked to them], but you never know.
Prior to joining WWE, Cora Jade competed in two matches in AEW under the name Elayna Black in 2020. She lost to Red Velvet in a singles bout before going on to team with Leyla Hirsch in a losing effort against Velvet and Brandi Rhodes.
