Ex-WWE Star Expected To Debut In New Promotion

A former WWE star who is moving on from the company will be appearing in another wrestling promotion soon.

There were several main roster and NXT WWE superstars released in early May as part of the annual post-WrestleMania cuts. In some cases, though, a wrestler is told that their contract is not being renewed.

It was reported that Shotzi was told that WWE wouldn’t renew her contract after she had been part of the NXT roster for the last few months. Shotzi had been on Smackdown for a few years but also missed time due to injuries during her WWE career.

Shotzi signed with WWE in 2019 and had success as an NXT Tag Team Champion. While she did face off against many top stars on the main roster, she was never pushed that heavily.

While writing in a now-deleted post on social media, Shotzi clarified that she will be free to wrestle again sometime in July.

Just to clarify, I still have a good amount of time on my contract. But come July I will be full time balls to the walls!

Shotzi Moving On From WWE With Upcoming MLW Appearance

Fightful Select reports that Shotzi will likely participate in the MLW show on June 26th. Fightful has been told that Shotzi is expected to work on several MLW shows in the future.

It was also mentioned that MLW is excited about Shotzi working for them, and she will have some “reasonable freedom” and input regarding who she wrestles in MLW.

Regarding future matches, Fightful reports that “Shotzi vs. Shoko Nakajima is a big match they want to build to.” Shoko won MLW’s Word Featherweight Title in April.

Shotzi is able to take bookings less than two months after WWE let her go because her contract will expire before June 26th. That means the 90-day no-compete clause that main roster WWE stars deal with when released is not in effect in her case.
