The Reason WWE Won’t Televise Every King & Queen Of The Ring Match

Eight King & Queen of the Ring matches were originally set for Raw but WWE took an unusual step with two bouts it pulled from the show.

The King & Queen of the Ring tournaments got underway on Raw in Hartford with two stars forced to withdraw due to injury. Before the show, it was revealed Drew McIntyre had withdrawn from the tournament and ended up being replaced by his old nemesis Jey Uso.

In the Queen of the Ring tournament, Damage CTRL revealed Asuka was injured and she was replaced by teammate Dakota Kai.

WWE Running Short Of Time For Tournament Matches

In total, six matches took place across the two tournaments but two planned matches for the show were pulled and in an unusual move, it was advertised that they’d instead take place on forthcoming WWE live events.

Fightful Select has now reported that the reason for the Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio and Shayna Baszler vs. Zelina Vega matches not being moved to another televised WWE show is due to the fact the company don’t feel there’s enough time between now and the King & Queen of the Ring PLE to do so.

WWE will hold untelevised live shows in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Macon, Georgia on the 11th and 12th of May but there has been no confirmation which match will take place on which show.
