Reason For WWE Stars Asking To Leave Revealed
Now having to wait until later this year to leave the company, the reason why two WWE stars asked for their release has been disclosed.
It was reported shortly after WrestleMania 39 that Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid had requested to be let go from their contracts, which it now would seem are set to expire in mid-October this year. At the time it was believed that their request had been granted, however the pair continued to appear on NXT and last night took to social media to confirm that their request had been denied.
The team, known before joining WWE as Grizzled Young Veterans, had not disclosed the reason why they wanted to leave the company, however a new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio claims it’s so that they can return home to England.
There’s reasons that they wanted to move back to England, and that’s basically it.
When we talked about the story on April 3 right after WrestleMania when I first heard about it, it was pretty much, in NXT, it was like they were gone. They asked for their release, they were gonna get released, and then they were basically told, ‘We have to decide’.
So they’ve been working there (since), and I guess today, based on the tweet, they were told, ‘No, you’re not getting your release’.
So they’re gonna be there until the end of the contract and that’s that, and then presumably they will leave unless they change their minds.
It would be a fair assumption that the duo will wait out their contracts, and they are not advertised for tonight’s Spring Break edition of NXT.
