Reason WWE Made Roman Reigns Change Revealed

Roman Reigns entrance WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns is back on SmackDown.

The September 13th edition of SmackDown was the first since the show moved to the USA Network from Fox, and the card was stacked as a result.

In the opening match of the night, Cody Rhodes put his Undisputed WWE Title on the line against Solo Sikoa in a Cage Match. After Rhodes grabbed the win, he was attacked by The Bloodline, but the return to Roman Reigns thwarted the assault.

Backstage, Adam Pearce wanted to set a tag team match between Rhodes & Reigns against Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood, but the World Champion resisted.

Later in the show, Reigns cut a promo on The Bloodline in the ring, adding that he doesn’t need Rhodes. At this, the American Nightmare responded, reminding Reigns that WWE wasn’t “his” as he’s been away for months.

The pair were confronted by Sikoa and Fatu, but this was only a diversion, enabling Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to jump them. After Reigns and Rhodes turned the tables, they signed the contracts for Bad Blood.

Why Was Roman Reigns Pulled From Advertising?

The situation around Reigns heading into the show was a little confusing. He was advertised for the taping in the weeks prior, before being removed, leading many to suspect he now wouldn’t be appearing.

According to Fightful Select, this was a deliberate move to ensure Reigns’ return was a surprise.

Despite his part-time schedule, Roman Reigns is being advertised for Survivor Series.
