Real Reason WWE Let R-Truth Go Allegedly Revealed

R-Truth WWE

Vince Russo delves into R-Truth’s departure from WWE.

R-Truth was surprisingly let go from the WWE a few days ago. While fans are perplexed by the decision, former WWE writer Vince Russo drills it down and reasons out why the former 24/7 Champion was let go.

On June 1st, R-Truth took to his social media handle to let the WWE Universe know that his contract wasn’t renewed and that he would be moving on from the WWE. The fans and wrestling fraternity were shocked and came out in support of the former WWE Superstar. In this week’s episode of The Coach & Bro Show, the two veterans of the business discussed Truth’s exit. Russo broke it down to TKO wanting to reduce costs.

“We’ve seen TKO, we’ve seen the pattern. And the pattern is we’ve got to make the bottom line beefier. We’ve got to make a profit margin look more attractive. So what they’ve been doing is raising prices and cutting prices. We’ve seen this NXT system that was made to just churn out wrestlers, not stars, wrestlers. Through the system and now bang, they’re on TV. When this one doesn’t get over, they bring out the next one, and we’ve seen this rotating wheel for years now. Going back to the three-year contract, Truth has built up his decor in WWE. He is making a ton of money. Truth is also 53 years old, let’s not forget that, so now what TKO is looking at is we’re paying this 53-year-old veteran X amount of dollars, we can probably bring in five people from NXT and not pay them as much as R-Truth.” [10:35 – 11:53]

WWE RAW Echoes With R-Truth Chants

This week’s episode of WWE RAW was the first show since R-Truth’s release. The WWE Universe let the company and the former WWE Superstar know how much it missed him by chanting his name throughout the show. The commentators chose to ignore it, making no mention of the chants. However, CM Punk acknowledged the chants after the show by asking the fans how they could chant for someone who wasn’t there.
