Reason John Cena Will Miss WWE SummerSlam
A new report has revealed the reason behind John Cena missing SummerSlam despite his recent return to WWE TV.
On the June 27th edition of Raw, John Cena made his return to WWE television for the first time in nearly a year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut. Cena was seen speaking to WWE Superstars throughout the night, including the man who has taken issue with the 16-time World Champion in recent weeks, the current Mr. Money in the Bank, Theory.
With his reappearance on the WWE roster, many fans expected that John Cena would be part of one of the company’s biggest shows of the year, SummerSlam. However, it looks like that won’t be the case.
On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that Cena’s film commitments will prevent him from attending The Biggest Party Of The Summer.
“I can confirm that being filmed right now is Peacemaker 2 and John Cena is involved. He’s working on Peacemaker 2 as we speak. I presume that’s why there have been discussions of him doing SummerSlam but then he showed up on Raw to announce ‘someday I’ll be back, I don’t know when, don’t know where but I’ll be back someday.’ Apparently, he’s filming Peacemaker and that’s why he can’t do SummerSlam.”
Although he can’t make it to SummerSlam, it is believed that John Cena is in line for a match at WrestleMania 39 when the Showcase of the Immortals goes Hollywood once again.
