Real Reason WWE Star Has Been Missing From The Ring
WWE star Piper Niven has been absent from WWE for a while.
Niven hasn’t been on the Stamford-based promotion’s weekly programming for about a month. She last competed on the August 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, which took place at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
She defeated Charlotte Flair in a singles match. Her absence was further highlighted when Chelsea Green teamed with Alba Fyre on the September 19 edition of SmackDown rather than Niven. Chelsea Green has even posted on social media for “fill-in” candidates to temporarily join her on-screen, reflecting Niven’s real-life unavailability.
Piper Niven Is Absent From WWE Due to an Injury
Fightful’s recent report confirmed that Piper Niven is currently sidelined because of an undisclosed injury. Over the past week, numerous inquiries surfaced about her status as she hadn’t appeared on WWE programming and missed her typical team appearances alongside Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice.
WWE sources informed Fightful that Niven indeed suffered an injury but withheld details about the type or severity, stating even they were unsure of the full extent at this early stage. No specific details of her injury or any return timeline have been disclosed to the public yet.
Given her previous battles with health setbacks, concern for her well-being is high within the wrestling community. She has previously battled significant health challenges, most notably an episode of Bell’s Palsy in December 2019. Bell’s Palsy is a rare condition causing temporary facial paralysis or weakness, affecting only a small fraction of the population. She also suffered a broken hand in February 2024 while training, which sidelined her for several months.
Recently, Jey Uso also got injured during his match at Wrestlepalooza when he hit Bron Breakker with a steel chair. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer shared an update on Uso’s condition, revealing that he has entered WWE’s concussion protocol due to his injury.
Jey busted himself open, he hit Bron with the chair and it bounced off Bron’s back and split him six ways from Sunday. He’s in concussion protocol, which is a requirement after any injury like this.
