Real Reason For TNA Exodus As More Talents Leave
TNA is going through some major changes and now the reason has been given behind some exits in the company as more stars leave.
TNA welcomed a new top boss as Anthem Sports named a company president to oversee the wrestling promotion as well as some of Anthem’s other business concerns.
It seems TNA is undergoing a period of unrest, however, as Rhino announced he was leaving TNA and he has now been followed out of the door by Trent Seven and Kushida. All of this comes after TNA welcomed back the controversial Tessa Blanchard who was fired by the promotion in 2020.
Pay Cuts Behind TNA Exits
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained what’s been happening behind the scenes in TNA that may have led to the mass exodus of talent:
One of the things that happened was a lot of the talent was asked to take pay cuts. I don’t know how many. That was among the reasons Rhino left, his last match would have been on Saturday. Jade Chung, the ring announcer, she left, her contract was up at the end of the year so she’s done. Josh Alexander, who’s her husband, his contract is coming up very soon. It’s not a lock that he’s leaving but I think there’s an expectation that he’s leaving. He said he’s gonna test free agency so it depends where he gets an offer.
Kushida, he’s done, it feels like the New Japan deal is done, I can’t say that 100% but it looks that way. He had two contracts, a New Japan contract and a TNA contract so that one’s done. Jordynne Grace is expected to leave when her deal’s up to go to WWE. Trent Seven, another one who’s gone so a lot of people leaving TNA in the last week and going forward.
Josh Alexander has revealed when his TNA deal ends and it seems increasingly likely that the Walking Weapon’s future will lie in WWE or AEW.
