Real Reason Behind The Rock’s WWE Absence Allegedly Revealed
The Rock hasn’t been on WWE TV as frequently as fans had expected.
He was a regular figure during the build to WrestleMania 40, but seems to have stepped away from WWE TV for a prolonged period.
His last appearance was at Elimination Chamber when John Cena turned heel on Cody Rhodes. Since then, storylines have continued to develop, but with no signs of The Final Boss.
Former WWE Head Writer reveals The Rock and Triple H had creative differences
It is well-known that The Rock wanted Cody Rhodes to turn heel, but that plan did not work. Instead, the global juggernaut had John Cena turn heel.
On Writing with Russo, WWE veteran Vince Russo revealed that The Champ turning heel must have been plan B, and The Rock’s ideas were turned down a second time in a row. As a result, he moved himself away from creativity.
Well, for starters, I think it was plan B. Because Rock has told us this, Cody has told us this. Rock wanted Cody to turn heel and they poo-pooed it. So then Rock’s next idea was John Cena turning heel, which was plan B. I also think at that point, Rock was a little bit p*ssed off because this was the second WrestleMania in a row that they didn’t listen to him. So, I think at that point, he said, ‘Well, you’re on your own. There are other things that I could do rather than hang around here and be shot down every time I come up with something.’ So, at that point Rock takes himself out of it creatively.
Fans expect The Rock to show up during John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2025 for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
