Real Reason For R-Truth’s WWE Name Change

R-Truth Ron Killings WWE

WWE can’t handle the truth as R-Truth changes name after his shock return.

R-Truth recently revealed WWE had told him that his time in the company was coming to an end, as his contract with the company was not being renewed. The timing of the decision raised eyebrows as Truth was recently part of his highest-profile match since 2011 as he took on WWE Champion John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

An outpouring of support from wrestling stars and fans then followed, with WWE fans chanting “We want Truth” at several shows after his exit was confirmed. And the company seemed to listen.

At Money In The Bank, R-Truth made his shock return as he laid out John Cena during Cena’s tag team bout, where he teamed with Logan Paul to take on Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. The fans went wild for Truth’s return as Michael Cole echoed their chants, but it seems R-Truth isn’t back in WWE; rather, Ron Killings is.

Ron Killings Replaces R-Truth In WWE

Truth is now listed as Ron Killings internally in WWE, and that is the name that his new t-shirt is listed under on WWE.com. The Wrestling Observer has reported that the name change came at the request of Truth himself. The decision was said to be made so that when his new WWE deal ends then he’ll have had time on the company’s TV under that name that he can use elsewhere.

Ron Killings was the name the star used during their time in TNA in the early 2000s. Killings briefly used the name in dark matches in WWE when he returned to the company in 2008.
