Real Reason For Drew McIntyre’s WWE Hiatus
Triple H has explained Drew McIntyre’s recent absence from Raw.
After weeks away following a major loss to CM Punk at Bad Blood, Drew McIntyre made an impact on his return to Raw. The Scottish Warrior launched a surprise attack on Sami Zayn, leaving him lying with a Claymore Kick.
Following his comeback, Drew McIntyre sent a heated message to fans, telling them to assume that anything they had heard about his time away was “BS.” However, now Triple H has shed some light on the star’s hiatus.
Drew McIntyre Was “Dying To Come Back” To WWE
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, the Chief Content Officer explained that McIntyre wasn’t hurt or injured, instead he just wanted to give him “a little breather” following his feud with Punk.
“He was dying to come back. He wasn’t hurt, he wasn’t injured. Let’s just give you a little breather here for a second. And whether that’s spending some time at home enjoying your family, whatever that is, or whether that’s, hey, I have this other project I wanna work on. I have this project that Netflix has come up with, I’m gonna work on that. Whatever.
According to The Game, giving wrestlers time away allows them to “keep things fresh” and fans should expect more of it in future.
“Us having that ability to morph and shift things around and keep things fresh, I think is a tremendous opportunity for us. So, I’d look for more of that too.”
During another recent interview, Triple H revealed that WWE will remain a family-friendly product after the move to Netflix.
