Real Reason For Adam Page’s AEW Absence Revealed

Hangman Adam Page is a man on a mission in AEW but now the reason for his four-month absence from the company has been revealed.

At Revolution in March, Adam Page and Swerve Strickland continued their heated feud as part of a triple threat match for the AEW World Championship with Samoa Joe. On that occasion, Joe escaped with the gold as Page did everything he could to prevent Strickland from walking away with the title.

However, Page then disappeared from AEW with no explanation and in his absence Swerve Strickland captured the AEW World Title to make Tony Khan’s company truly Swerve’s house.

Adam Page Off AEW For Family Reasons

In July, Adam Page returned with a renewed fire to take out Strickland going as far as to join Team Elite for Blood & Guts after Strickland led the AEW side into battle. Page made his presence felt as Bryan Danielson defeated Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title at All In and now the two men are set to battle once again in a steel cage match at All Out on September 7th.

During a promo between the two men on Dynamite, Strickland alluded to seeing Page with his pregnant wife and child as he called back to invading Page’s home several months ago.

Now Fightful Select has followed up on that comment confirming that Page’s wife was pregnant with their second child during his feud with Strickland. That lay behind his extended absence from AEW TV the report noted that he had worked extensive paternity leave into his deal with the company.
