Real-Life Heat Between Two WWE Legends Confirmed
WWE Hall of Famer JBL has revealed that two stars of the company had very serious real-life heat behind the scenes.
Issues behind the scenes in the wrestling business are nothing new. WWE fans of the era remember the backstage fight between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart that eventually led to the infamous Montreal Screwjob at Survivor Series 1997. The fact is, not everybody gets along.
Real Problems With 2 Former WWE Stars
Speaking on the Something To Wrestle podcast, WWE Hall of Famer JBL was asked if he ever had to split up a fight between former stars Melina and Sharmell. While JBL said he never had to stop the women getting physical, there was some very real bad blood between them:
They had heat. They had real heat. But I don’t remember that. I don’t remember if they were ever separated. At one point, there was real heat, real heat between those two and several other things.
Melina spent 7 years in WWE between 2004 and 2011, and during that time, she only got in the ring with Sharmell once. That match took place on an episode of SmackDown in August 2005 as Joey Mercury and Melina teamed to defeat Sharmell and Booker T.
Melina returned to WWE to be part of the 2022 Royal Rumble match while Sharmell was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in the same year.
