Rated FTR Share Emotional Message With Crowd After AEW Dynamite

Adam Copeland AEW

For Adam Copeland and FTR, the latest edition of AEW Dynamite was more than just another show.

On January 1st, AEW kicked off its new era with Dynamite Fight For The Fallen live from Asheville, North Carolina. The city, which was recently devastated by Hurricane Helene, is the current home of Adam Copeland, Cash Wheeler, and Dax Harwood, so it was more than just a little bit special.

In the show’s main event, the trio known as Rated FTR defeated Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli in what was Copeland’s first match since breaking his leg in Double or Nothing. During the show, the veteran also appeared to officially shorten his name to “Cope.”

Following the main event, Rated FTR addressed the crowd and delivered some fighting words for the city of Asheville. During the untelevised promo, Copeland praised the city’s toughness while Harwood said moving to the area with his wife was one of the best decisions he ever made.

Although the address wasn’t shown on television, it was later uploaded to AEW’s YouTube channel

Having seen the chaos caused by Hurricane Helene first-hand, ahead of Dynamite, Adam Copeland said the show was vital for the area’sresidents trying to rebuild their lives.

Adam Copeland Set For Chris Jericho AEW Clash

During Dynamite, Adam Copeland and FTR bumped into Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree backstage, with the confrontation setting up a six-man tag team match on Collision.

Copeland and Jericho have a lengthy history going back to their time in WWE. The pair enjoyed a run with the World Tag Team Championship in 2009 before an eventual feud saw them meet one-on-one at WrestleMania XXVI the following year.

The two Canadian legends last shared the ring at WWE Night of Champions in September 2010.
