Randy Orton had a lot of good things to a big name in WWE who can say they did something that others did not do.

Over the last several months, Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes have reunited as allies on the Smackdown brand while also being main event performers.

It was over 15 years ago when Orton was a top guy in WWE who led Cody and Ted Dibiase in a group called Legacy. While Dibiase has moved on from pro wrestling, Cody went on a long journey to get where he is as the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

During Orton’s recent appearance on Cody’s “What Do You Wanna Talk About” show on WWE’s YouTube channel, Orotn made it known he was proud of Cody’s journey in pro wrestling. While Orton didn’t say it, he was referring to Cody leaving WWE in 2016, conquering the independent world of pro wrestling, and then helping launch AEW in 2019. After three years with AEW, Cody was back in WWE in 2022 to try to finish his story.

“I’m so proud of you, dude. Legitimately so proud of you. When you left, the balls it took for you to leave and then, like, start from scratch kind of, but not. I mean, that’s not the right way to say it, because you were Cody f*****g Rhodes, but to do what you did, I could never have done what you did, never, never. So, when I say I’m proud of you, like I legitimately mean it.”

That led to Orton talking about WrestleMania 40 and how WWE pivoted away from The Rock facing Roman Reigns because the fans wanted Cody to be in that spot.

“To see it finally come and then with The Rock, probably the most recognized guy in the world. Wanted to come in and be the guy and be a good guy, and he couldn’t because of you. And then you came through, and then you succeeded … That’s the thing is, like you did what no one else f*****g did.”

It was at WrestleMania 40 when Cody Rhodes won the WWE Championship and Orton was one of the top stars in the ring with him, who put Cody on his shoulders to celebrate with the fans.

Randy Orton Looking To Become WWE World Champion Again

While Cody Rhodes continues his reign as the WWE Champion, Randy Orton gets a shot at Gunther’s WWE World Title at the upcoming Bash In Berlin PLE on August 31st. Gunther and Orton have exchanged comments recently with Gunther claiming that Orton wasted his potential while Orton has made it clear he is proud of the career that he has had in WWE.

Orton celebrating an anniversary this month since it was 20 years ago when he won his first World Title at SummerSlam 2004. Orton can get his 15th World Title at Bash in Berlin if he’s able to find a way to beat Gunther.
