Randy Orton’s Encouraging Words For Joe Hendry At WrestleMania Revealed

Randy Orton

Randy Orton had some interesting comments for Joe Hendry after their WrestleMania 41 match.

Going into WrestleMania 41, all that was known about Randy Orton’s match was that he would be in the ring on WrestleMania Sunday and would face a mystery opponent that would be revealed at the show itself.

After The Viper entered the ring, Randy Orton’s open challenge was answered by Joe Hendry, who is the TNA World Champion. Hendry has competed at several WWE shows in the past, primarily in NXT, and also appeared in the 2025 Royal Rumble.

The Orton-Hendry match only went about three minutes, with Orton getting the predictable win after the patented RKO finishing move. After the match, Orton said something to Hendry, spun Hendry around, and Orton dropped Hendry with another RKO, which the fans loved.

In a video posted on WWE’s Instagram account, the audio was played about what Orton said to Hendry after the match.

“Hey. Listen to me. For everybody back there, you showed up. You showed up for all these people. That means a lot to me, man.”

At that point, Hendry looked like he was going to walk away, so Orton hit Hendry with an RKO.

Joe Hendry Enjoyed Being Involved With Randy Orton At WrestleMania

Some fans and critics complained about Joe Hendry being in a match against Randy Orton since it made Hendry, the TNA World Champion, look weak since he lost a three-minute match.

Joe Hendry disagrees with critics, arguing that there is no shame in losing to a WWE legend like Randy Orton at WrestleMania.

“My job as TNA Champion and what defines this reign is business and getting as many eyeballs on TNA Wrestling as possible.

To me, that’s exactly as it should have gone,

There’s no shame in taking the RKO and losing to a legend like Randy Orton.”

It has also been reported that Randy Orton personally chose Joe Hendry as his opponent, as Orton enjoys Hendry as a performer.
