Randy Orton’s Wife Will Decide When It’s Time For Star To Retire

Randy Orton

Randy Orton has given fans insight into his retirement plans.

At Money In The Bank, John Cena announced his intention to hang up his boots in 2025 after a year-long retirement tour. Since then, Cena has been adamant that when he wrestles his final match, he won’t be following the path of several legends and getting back in the ring for a big payday.

With Cena ending his in-ring career, talk around one of his biggest rivals, Randy Orton has also increased. The Raw star and Cena both made their WWE debuts in 2002 and they were two of their biggest stars of the era.

Appearing on So, What Do You Want To Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, Orton said he wants to follow a similar retirement plan to Cena.

“To answer your question honestly, I think do this for as long as I can and make sure, we brought up my wife Kim on a couple of occasions, she told me, ‘When it’s time to hang them up, I’ll let you know.’

If this is when I need to hang them up, I don’t want to go here. I don’t want to retire and have a last match and then leave the company and have another last match and another one and another one.

Like John (Cena). When he says, ‘This is my last Royal Rumble. This is my last Elimination Chamber. This is my last WrestleMania.’ He means it. If anyone has ever meant that, it’s him. I want to follow suit. I want, when it’s all said and done and it’s over, I want it to be over. I want to take it to that point and then tear it down and ride off into the sunset,”

Randy Orton Signs New Long-Term Deal

During a recent interview, Randy Orton confirmed he’s just signed a new five-year WWE contract. The new agreement will see the veteran wrestle with the company beyond his 49th birthday.

Since returning to action in late 2023, Orton has repeatedly stated he’d like to wrestle until he’s 50. The Viper stepped back into the ring at Survivor Series 2023 after missing well over a year with a serious back injury that required surgery. After going under the knife, doctors told the former World Champion to retire.
