Randy Orton Shocks Kevin Owens With WWE Return

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn went to war once again as their friendship fell apart at Elimination Chamber but Randy Orton had the last word.

Kevin Owens has fallen apart ever since he turned on Cody Rhodes, failing to defeat his former friend for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Randy Orton suffered a vicious betrayal from Owens as well with The Viper put on the sidelines after suffering a package piledriver – a move previously banned in WWE.

When Owens faced Rhodes for the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble, Sami Zayn was on hand to witness the worst of the action as Rhodes delivered a nasty Alabama Slam on Owens through a table. Zayn did nothing to stop Rhodes and watched as he grabbed both his title belt and the Winged Eagle title to claim the win.

That was too much for Owens to bear and he attacked Sami Zayn, delivering a package piledriver to his oldest friend. Given the nature of Zayn’s injuries after that move, WWE weren’t willing to sanction a match between the pair so an unsanctioned bout was made for Elimination Chamber.

Randy Orton Surprises Kevin Owens After Sick Win

At Elimination Chamber: Toronto, the referee was even out of his traditional gear so fans knew this was no ordinary match and it also took place with the arena plunged into darkness as a spotlight followed the action.

Chairs, hockey sticks, trash cans, and tables were all used before Zayn inadvertently wiped out the referee with a helluva kick. Charles Robinson then ran to the ring after Owens dropped Zayn with a stunner but after just a two-count, Owens took out Robinson as well.

WWE producers came to ringside to beg Kevin Owens to stop as he delivered two powerbombs onto the ring apron to finally put Zayn away. EMTs tended to Zayn immediately after the match but Owens was not done.

Kevin Owens waded through security to return to ringside and expose the concrete floor looking to put Zayn away for good but someone was watching.

Randy Orton’s music hit and The Viper made his shock return to WWE. Orton dropped Owens with an RKO but stopped short of using a chair as he resorted to his violent past. With Kevin Owens laid out, Randy Orton attempted to nail a vicious punt but was physically restrained by WWE producers. The same WWE producers who stood by while a barbed wire chair was used in the match. Orton dished out the RKOs to security as the Toronto crowd went wild.
