Why Randy Orton May Never Break John Cena’s World Title Record

Randy Orton

A WWE Hall of Famer has explained why Randy Orton won’t surpass John Cena’s 17 world championships.

At WrestleMania 41, John Cena captured the WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes for the final time in his career. Cena’s win meant that he had broken the tie with Ric Flair for the most world championship reigns, according to WWE.

But WWE has someone still wrestling who isn’t too far behind Cena in terms of world title reigns, but it doesn’t look like they’ll surpass the Never Seen 17.

Randy Orton Is Not A Mark For Himself

Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash explained that despite it being very easy for Orton to overtake Cena’s record, he doesn’t believe that it will happen because Orton’s never been one to push for those sorts of things:

I don’t know why they haven’t used Randy because when you look at Randy’s body of work as the youngest champion and how long he’s been there. He has 14 world championships. It would take nothing for him to become an 18-time champion and surpass 17, but Randy has never been a mark.

That’s probably Randy’s biggest drawback. Randy is not a f*cking mark. Randy just wants to get paid and hang out with his wife and kids. ‘If you don’t have a spot for me, but you’re still going to pay me and I can sit at home and go to the gym in my house, I’m cool.’
