Randy Orton is looking to renew one of his most famous rivalries at WrestleMania.

John Cena and Randy Orton broke through onto WWE’s main roster within months of one another and were bitter rivals throughout the mid-point of their careers, feuding over various World Championships.

Despite this, the pair never had a singles match at WrestleMania — something Orton is keen to change.

Appearing on The Bump, Orton discussed potentially becoming World Champion again and how beating his long-time rival for the gold at WrestleMania would be a dream scenario.

Orton and Cena have only wrestled once at WrestleMania, competing in a Triple Threat Match also featuring Triple H.

“A dream match for me would be to somehow find myself in a situation where I’m fighting Cena at WrestleMania for the title. I don’t know how you get there, I’m not saying it’s gonna happen. But I have never wrestled John at WrestleMania in a singles match.

We had some wars back in the day, so being able to revisit that after all this, I think it’s not only something that I would want, I think the fans would eat it up too,”

Randy Orton Comments On CM Punk’s WWE Comeback

On the show, Randy Orton also gave his thoughts on CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series. The Viper said that he initially felt like Punk’s comeback let the wind out of his sails as it came on the same show as his own return following an 18-month, injury-enforced absence.

However, he remained upbeat about the situation given the reception both men received at the event.
